Make some time for 6 of the world's weirdest alarm clocks

Getting up early is supposed to be good for your productivity and for your brain. In just a few short weeks, Daylight Saving Time will end and we'll all find it a little bit harder to get out of bed in the morning. Just by pressing the snooze button, you can stay in the warm haven that is your bed for just a few minutes more.

So what if getting up in the morning could be just a little more exciting? What if hitting the snooze button wasn't an option and your alarm clock decided to run away from you?

Whether you're known for sleeping through alarms or just want to add some adventure to your mornings, we have the strangest alarm clocks to help jumpstart your day. If you use your Android or iPhone as your alarm clock, we've got the craziest ways to make sure that you're up on time for that early morning run or important meeting.

1. Clocky

New Picture (36)

Start your day shouting, "Stop that alarm clock!" For those of you who really can't motivate yourselves to get out of the bed in the morning, there's Clocky to the rescue.

When the alarm sounds, Clocky gives you time to get up and turn it off. If you don't get up quickly enough, Clocky jumps off your nightstand - from a height of up to 3 feet - and will run around your room until you catch it.

Clocky will also hide if there's a spot, so we suggest you get up in a hurry if you don't want to spend the morning crawling underneath your bed.

2. Wake N Shake

Whoa, dude - let's Wake N Shake!

This iPhone app makes you shake it like a Polaroid picture to turn it off. You can't cheat and just tap Home, as the alarm will just keep ringing. The only way to get some peace and quiet is to shake that iPhone as if your life depended on it.

The app's developers don't recommend using this as an everyday alarm, but it's perfect for those times where you absolutely have to be up and at 'em.

3. Flying Alarm Clock

The Flying Alarm Clock will quite literally make you leap out of bed, if the Star Trek-sounding red alert alarm - or submarine "dive" alarm - doesn't do that first.

The propeller flies off the alarm and lands wherever fate sends it. Attached to the bottom of the propeller is a key that re-attaches it to the base, and also turns off the alarm.

4. Gun and Target Recordable Alarm Clock

Have you ever wished you could wake up feeling like James Bond? Now you can, minus the hot chicks and Aston Martins.

Once your alarm goes off, grab your laser gun and ready, aim, fire! A target flips up on the alarm clock and you have to hit a bull's-eye to turn off the alarm.

5. Sleep if U Can

New Picture (40)

Sleep If U Can sounds like the title to a "Saw"-inspired film, and it's a no less sadistic way to wake up.

Sleep If U Can is a free app for Android that really makes sure that you get out of bed. The app shows you a picture of a typical place in your house, and to turn it off you have to take a picture of that very location. You register the location when you first download the app, and then your picture is the key to turning off your alarm.

This is perfect if you're guilty of turning off your alarm or have trouble actually getting out of bed in the morning. Because really, who wants to leave their nice, warm covers?

6. The Sonic Bomb Clock

The Sonic Bomb might be the most insane way to wake up we have on this list. With a 113 decibel audio alarm and a bed shaker that goes between your mattress and box spring, you'll never use the excuse "I didn't hear the alarm" ever again.
