Daily Mail, 31 October 2012.

It looks for all the world like an out take from Thunderbirds, with low budget special effects and planes appearing to jerk around on the end of strings.

However, this is actually an amateur video of the flight path at Heathrow airport, replayed at seventeen times the normal speed with hilarious consequences.

The video has become a hit on YouTube, and has been viewed thousands of times.

The video captures dozens of planes approaching Heathrow to land - but speeded up, they appear to jerk all over the screen

The video was posted by YouTube user cargospotter, one of 120 he has made of planes, and was shot to show how closely planes come to each other as they come into land at the airport.

'This is my first video from London Heathrow,' he said.

'This video shows how short the distances between approaching planes at LHR are.

'Thanks for watching and I hope you like it.'

Speeded up to 17x, the video shows the turbulence planes experience when coming into land at Heathrow airport, with wind currents constantly moving them around.
