With 21 December 2012 - the supposed end of the world - just hours away, some websites are devoting entire pages to debunking, not for the first time, this “D-Day”. These sites contain numerous links to past and recent articles about the doomsday myth. Here’s a sampling:
1. National Geographic: The Maya 2012 Doomsday Myth
2. How Stuff Works: The Mayan Calendar & the (Unlikely) Apocalypse in 2012
3. Live Science: Mayan Doomsday (Not): Coverage & Countdown
4. Discovery News: 'Mayan Doomsday' Is Not The Apocalypse: Wide Angle
5. NASA: Doomsday 2012 Fact Sheet
And more articles…
8. 9 Ways Humanity Could Bring About Our Own Destruction (...and it won't be because of a Maya prophesy)
Of course there are still some believers who are preparing for the “Armageddon” (see also my post here):
Should we be worried? Aren’t there more pressing matters at hand?
