Recently we have been seeing a lot of folding electric scooters, including those that could be folded to be carried in a backpack, go off-road and feature rear wheel steering. One of these is the E.T scooter. Recently launched, it has a unique look and claims that it can be folded in just five seconds.
Containing an aluminium frame with suspension fork, disc brakes, and a lithium-polymer battery, the E.T is said to offer a range of about 35 kms (22 miles) for every two-hour charge. According to plans, it is to come installed with a 250 watt motor. Considering the speed limits allowed for such vehicles in different countries, it might get upgraded to up to 700 watts - which would let it cover a speed of 55 km/h (34mph).
The weight of the scooter is 30kg (66lb), and can handle rider weights of up to 160kg (353 lb). The most amazing feature is that it can be folded in just five seconds. It might not be as impressive as the three seconds the Stigo takes, but it’s still pretty quick.
The E.T’s designers are currently raising money for production of the product on Kickstarter. A pledge of US$2,190 can get you one, given the target money is raised. They are to start production in January. The planned retail price is US$2,990.
