The stunning structures you see in this video by Emanuele Fornasier come from his experiment to generate crystals. The process is carried out very slowly by an electric current: layer by layer the crystal is born. It takes hours or even days for the crystals to take shape. But, as you can see here, the results are absolutely mesmerizing.
