New Picture (52)New Picture (51)

These are gorgeous images of the Jewel Caterpillar (Acraga coa), a very unusual and almost translucent looking caterpillar, spotted and photographed in Mexico by amateur nature photographer Gerardo Aizpuru in early April 2012. Aizpuru then submitted his pictures to Project Noah, a user-created database of geotagged wildlife photos.

Description:

Photo take in a mangrove area [near Cancun, Mexico]. Found this Stoning translucent caterpillar lay on a Red Mangrove tree leaf this morning early. Just can believe there is some species like this around the world. Looks like made of glass whit small red mushroom inside every pic. About 3 cm long.
