This is the gigantic Goliath Bird-Eating Spider (also known as Goliath Tarantuala or Goliath Birdeater), at 10 inches in diameter, whose fangs are as long as a cheetah's claws and whose leg span is usually up to about 10" (25 cm) but can be up to 12" (30.5 cm). They are not the friendliest of critters, and are aggressive and defensive. They are quick and nervous, and will make a hissing noise if they feel threatened by rubbing the bristles on their legs. Their hissing can be heard up to 15 feet away.
