Imagine if you lived in a utopia of cleaner air, better health, and less congestion. That's how the world would look with fewer cars and more bikes. Sure, it's far-fetched, but it's also fun to think about.
It goes without saying that our air would be cleaner without all of those cars on the road. And we would all be quite a bit healthier in body, mind, and spirit with the added exercise and fresh air in our lives. These two factors right there would lead to more productivity at school and work, less absenteeism, and a dramatic decrease in medical costs for everything from hypertension to obesity to depression.
If you like to see it all in numbers, check out this infographic. It's U.K. based, but it's easy enough to extrapolate the idea. And it's motivation enough to dust off the handlebars and trade out at least a few car trips for bike rides.
